PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for compression molding a square column lumber capable of easily manufacturing a long sized square column lumber capable of being used for a pillar and the like by compression molding.;SOLUTION: An outer peripheral surface is compressed over all length of a log material 10 plate-like bodies 12, 12... having rigidity such as a plurality of metal planks and the like. After compression molding to a square column lumber 11 having a rectangular cross section, each of the plate-like bodies 12, 12... is cramped by band-like members 14 as a cramping jig to keep the compression state compressed by the plate-like bodies 12. Then, in order to fix a shape of the square lumber 11 permanently, heating treatment is applied to the square lumber 11 wherein the compressed state is held by the plate-like bodies 12, 12... and the band-like members 14.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
