PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an environmentally friendly non-halogen flame retardant composition which complies with the VW-1 level of the UL subject 758 standard, which is a high level flame retardancy standard, and which has excellent mechan ical properties and to produce a non-halogen flame retardant electric wire.;SOLUTION: (1) The non-halogen flame retardant composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a polymer, 50-300 pts.wt. of a metal hydroxide, which is a flame retardant, and sodium bicarbonate, which is a flame retardant auxiliary. (2) The non-halogen flame retardant electric wire comprises a conductor coated with the non-halogen flame retardant composition, wherein the non-halogen flame retardant composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of the polymer, 50-300 pts.wt. of the metal hydroxide, which is a flame retardant, and sodium bicarbonate, which is the flame retardant auxiliarv.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
