"Supported ruthenium oxide catalyst, process for the preparation of ruthenium catalyst supported on and process for the production of chlorine.A catalyst supported on ruthenium oxide selected from the group consisting of (1) a ruthenium catalyst supported on oxide including TiO2, which is obtained through calcination inA temperature of at least 550 198 C, as a vehicle; (2) a catalyst supported on ruthenium oxide having a quantity of adsorption of carbon monoxide at least 875 ml per one gram of ruthenium contained in the catalyst; (3) a ruthenium catalyst supported on oxide obtained by a process comprising the steps of preparing a composite supportRuthenium on a vehicle.Calcination of that compound supported on a temperature of at least 200 198 C in an atmosphere selected from the group consisting of an atmosphere of a gas of oxidation.An atmosphere of an inert gas and an atmosphere of a reducing gas.Treatment of the composite calcined with a solution mixed of hydrazine and a compound alkali and oxidation of said compound hydrazine treated.These catalysts have high catalytic activity and thus produce chlorine in a smaller quantity in a temperature lower.
