A method for predicting the biological activity of a plant composition comprising: a). exposure of a biosystem to a plant composition of the sample and measurement of the differential responses of two or more molecular markers, the set of differential response measures constituting a set of data called the Plant BioResponse Set (BRV Set); b). comparison of the BRV Set of the sample plant composition with at least one BRV Set previously obtained from a known plant composition with at least one known biological activity; and, c). prediction of the biological activity of the sample plant composition, based on the comparison of BRV Sets performed in step b).
