As yet intrusion of a conventional drive assembly into the passengercompartment of motor-vehicle in front collisions causes fracture of the feet, legs and/or lowerpart of the body andcollapse thereof, due to which the deployed airbags throw backwards and/ordecapitate thefront sitting passengers.At least one pair of independently operating piston devices in the frontsection of vehiclebody releases in the event of any front collision any drive assembly, designedin anydirection and for any wheel drive such as front-wheel drive of a transverselybuilt engine orrear-wheel drive of a longitudinally-built engine or front-wheel drive of alongitudinally-builtengine without power-transmission shaft for rear wheels or front-wheel driveof MercedesBenz A.In the second feature of invention, in order to optimize the crush behaviourof longitudinalrunners and the property of energy absorption thereof all juxtaposed elementsoflongitudinal runner, loosely guided by a piston rod, having inequal stiffnessin longitudinaldirection, are totally deformed by an impact pan while reamed and folded by acone-shapedhub thereof in the front collision.In the third feature, the longitudinal runner is defined by low-cost extrusioncomponents,which are form- and force-locking connected to each other and provided withretainingprofiles to receive parts of motor-vehicle.In the fourth feature, a pair of extrusion components is easily replaced whenabsorbingimpact energy of the motor-vehicle crashing into a wall during parking.
