A method and system (Figure 4) for helping mortgage consumers select the mortgage product that best meets their needs. An online tool is provided through a mortgage consumer's web browser that allows a mortgage consumer to calculate and compare the real or actual costs of various mortgage options available on the market. For each mortgage loan option, the online tool provides an easy to use interface that calculates and displays loan data for the mortgage consumer.
