The device uses a control parameter for an actuator for performing control movements, desired track data and actual track data with respect to a coordinate system fixed with respect to the earth from a navigation system. The control parameter is derived from a comparison of the desired and actual track data and a control function. A control function produces an actuator control parameter from the actual and desired track azimuth angle difference. The device uses a control parameter for an actuator (102) for performing control movements, desired track data and actual track data with respect to a coordinate system fixed with respect to the earth from a navigation system (110). The control parameter is derived from a comparison of the desired and actual track data and a control function. The track controller (101) has a control function for forming the control parameter that produces an actuator control parameter (101b) from the difference of the actual and desired track azimuth angles. Independent claims are also included for the following: a track control system and a method of forming a control parameter for vehicle track control.
