The method includes the step of obtaining stored subscriber-specific branch data from a central network node and transmitting it to a target node for each transfer of a network user from a first location with the origin network node to a second location with the target network node. The target node sets up a signalling connection to a special network node according to the branch data. Data pertaining to individual service profiles and branch data can be presented along with actual subscriber data for roaming subscribers. The network, e.g. an intelligent network, includes several service control points.
