The container (5) is fitted with coupling grips at the bottom front edge. The truck has a rearward tilting support frame (8) which is raised into the upright position, with the rear of the frame on the ground, to lift the container from the ground. A slider on the frame drops to the ground and secures the coupling to the container. The frame is then tilted back onto the truck while the slider pulls the container up onto the frame. The coupling grips each side of the frame and comprises transverse moving bolts which grip eyelets in the container frame. As soon as the container is moved its centre of mass over the pivot point of the frame, it is lowered onto the truck.
