A terahertz light element comprising a substrate, a photoconductive film formed on the plane of the substrate, and two mutually-separated conductive films formed on the photoconductive film. Corresponding parts of the conductive films are arranged a specified distance (d) apart from each other in a direction along the plane of the substrate. The substrate is so formed as to act as a lens with respect to a terahertz light going out from the substrate to the side opposite to the photoconductive film of incident to the substrate from the side opposite the photoconductive film.
