There is provided a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating vascular stenosis, which comprises a compound that inhibits the function of MK in vascular tissue as a main component. The present invention is useful for preventing or treating restenosis after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) or vascular stenosis due to arteriosclerosis.;Examples of the compound that inhibits the function of MK include antisense oligonucleotides which bind to segments of single chain mRNA transcribed from MK gene and inhibit MK protein synthesis in the cells and antibodies against MK protein.
