Manufature and Method of using the Media Sulfur-utilizing Autotrophic denitrification Reactor

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing media used in autotrophic denitrification process using sulfur is provided. The media, by which advanced wastewater treatment is carried out, does not require external alkali source because it incorporates alkali as a raw material. CONSTITUTION: The media is composed of 20-80 wt.% of sulfur powder, 5-40 wt.% of binding agent such soluble polymers as polyvinyl alcohols or celluloses, 20-80 wt.% of alkali such as sodium carbonate, calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, lime, and shell. The media has a compression resistance higher than 5kgf/particle, while less than 10kgf/particle.
