PURPOSE: Provided are optically active 2,6-disubstituted 4-methylene-tetrahydropyran derivative which is a starting material of drugs and physiologically activated materials and is especially useful as a chiral building block, and its manufacturing method. CONSTITUTION: Optically active pyran compound is represented by the formula(I), wherein R1 is (i) C1-10 alkyl group; (ii) C1-10 alkenyl group including at least one double bond, or alkynyl group; (iii) substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group; (iv) a group derived from a compound of the formula(VI); or (v) protected hydroxy group(C1-10 hydrocarbon having a protection group selected from benzyl group, trialkylsilyl group and tetrahydrofuran); R2 is (i) C1-10 alkyl group; (ii) C1-10 alkoxy group; (iii) substituted or unsubstituted benzyl group; R3 is H; and X and Y are independently halogen or alkoxy group.
