PURPOSE: A system and a method for renting/returning a DVD(Digital Video Disc) using a wire and wireless Internet are provided to enable a member to rent and return a DVD title suitable to the member's favorites by suggesting the information for the holding DVD title to the member through the wire and wireless Internet. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a web browser(10), an Internet connector(20), a web server(30), a member database(40), a contents file database(50), a rental device status database(60), a statistics database(70), an advertisement database(80), a network security system(90) and a DVD rental/returning device(100). The web browser displays the data such as an advertisement as a specific format. The web server confirms the member by receiving the user information from the member database, transmits the information received from the rental device status database and advertisement database to the web browser of the user and makes a DVD by understanding the existence of the requested DVD through the link with the DVD rental/returning device.
