Water-permeable porous concrete pavement construction

PURPOSE: A method for paving footway and driveway with permeable(draining) concrete using cement concrete as a main material is provided, which offers hydroplaning prevention, the increase of frictional resistance, and the decrease of water splash and noise. CONSTITUTION: The paving method of permeable concrete is characterized by forming a substrate, compact concrete(nonpermeable concrete) layer for substrate, and permeable concrete layer for surface. The compact concrete, paving the substrate or lean concrete layer, with 0-4cm of slump value contains 280-380kg of cement, 80-150kg of water, 950-1650kg of 5-40mm aggregate, 470-1000kg of fine aggregate less than 5mm, and 1-3kg of air entraining(AE) admixture, based on 1m¬3. The surface concrete(permeable concrete), paving the compact concrete layer for substrate within 60min. after spraying water, with 0-3cm of slump value and 15-30% of porosity contains 270-430kg of cement, 80-150kg of water, aggregates with sizes of 10-25mm, 5-19mm, 6-13mm, 4-10mm and up to 4mm(=5wt.%), 1-3kg of AE admixture, less than 5%(based on the cement) of inorganic paint and less than 20%(based on the cement) of at least one polymer selected from acryl resin, EVA, epoxy, SBR latex, etc., based on 1m¬3.
