PURPOSE: A process of preparing a carbon dioxide gas generating composition is provided by mixing a carbon dioxide gas generating agent, supporter and accelerator. Whereby, the composition can generate carbon dioxide 40 times or more as much as the amount of carbon dioxide to be generated from conventional carbon dioxide generating agents. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 10 parts by weight of a carbon dioxide gas generating agent, 10 parts by weight of surface modified silica having a particle diameter of 25 angstroms and a surface area of 700m¬2/g as a supporter and 20 parts by weight of bisphenol as an accelerator is agitated in a closed vessel. The carbon dioxide gas generating agent is one or two or more mixtures selected from ammonium bicarbonate, manganese carbonate, barium carbonate, sodium carbonate, strontium carbonate and potassium carbonate.
