PURPOSE: Provided are a porous ceramic carrier for biofilter and a method for fabricating the same that has a large specific surface area and excellent physical property better than conventional glass carrier and is manufactured by using fly ash, glass and diatomaceous earth. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) ball milling fly ash of 45-55 wt%, diatomaceous earth of 2-5 wt%, organic foaming agent based on azodicarbonamide of 0.3-1.0 wt%, and organic binder of 0.3-2.0 wt%, wherein the organic binder is consisted of dextrin and PVA, thereby making mixture powder, (b) making inorganic binder solution by dissolving mono aluminum phosphate (MAP) of 30-40 wt% into water with respect to weight of the water, adding the inorganic binder solution to the mixture powder of 7-15 wt% and mixing them together at 600-800 rpm, thereby obtaining a slurry, (c) pouring the slurry into a stainless mold cast by 60% of the volume to the mold cast, (d) forming pinholes by foaming reaction of the foaming agent in the slurry by heating the slurry in a convection oven at a temperature of 130-170°C, (e) drying the slurry for three hours, (f) inputting the dried mold into an electric furnace, increasing the temperature of the electric furnace at 3°C/min and sintering slurry at 1200-1250°C for 30 min, and (g) cooling the sintered body, cutting and polishing the sintered body to be a sphere.
