The present invention describes a converter core made of NiZn ferrite material. The transducer core exhibits low overall losses when it is used in a transducer. This low loss is achieved when multiple particles of the sintered ferrite material have a monolithic structure. This is the case when the average particle size is smaller than 2.8 microns. The average particle size of the sintered material is preferably in the range from 1.3 to 2.6 microns. The value of δ is preferably smaller than 4 nm.
