FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: the innovation refers to the synthesis of active substances, particularly, to that of ecdisteroids, concretely, to the synthesis of shidasterone observed at its lowest amounts in some plant varieties, for example, Blehnum niponicum and Vitex canescens. The method is performed due to interaction of 20-hydroxyecdisone (1) with trifluoroacetic anhydride at the action of compound 1 upon suspension in chloroform of three-fold molar excess of a reagent. Thirty minutes later one should observe homogenization of reaction mixture. On conducting evaporation and chromatography, shidasterone was isolated at 42% yield value.
