FIELD: chemistry of organometallic compounds, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention describes organometallic chelates of the formula (I): [(Z⁺X^-)_mML_n]Y (1) where Z⁺ means ion of 1,2,4-triazolium-5-ylidene of the formula (II) where R₁,R₂ and R₄ mean linear C₁-C₄-alkyl radical; R₃ means hydrogen atom, linear C₁-C₄-alkyl radical or phenyl; L means ionic or neutral ligand; M means metal taken among the group consisting of silver, mercury, nickel, palladium or rhodium; n means a whole number from 0 to 2; m means a whole number from 1 to 3; X^- means weakly coordinating anions and that present anti-ions for ions of 1,2,4-triazolium-5-ylidene; Y means anion providing an electrical neutrality of metallic chelate. Invention relates to also a method of their synthesis, a hydroformulation catalyst based on indicated chelates and an intermediate compound of the formula (III) .
