The weight ratio of the gravitational force components (Ga-Gc) and of the weight sensors (4a-4c) admitted by a measurement plate (3) is determined. A workpiece is placed on the measurement plate. so that the mounting area extends in parallel to the X-axis or to the Y-axis. The orientation of the workpiece is shifted to obtain the weight ratio. The distance of the mounting surface of the workpiece to the X-axis or Y-axis is then determined. An Independent claim is also included for a gravitational center determination device.
