In a method for combinatorial production of material samples in the form of a two-dimensional matrix in the surface area of a two-dimensional substrate, at least two different meterable material components as a suspension of one or more metering devices, which permit the delivery of individual suspension drops, to the same location of the substrate is metered in, so that at different regions of the surface of the substrate materials with different composition are obtained.
