The carrier platform has a base (9a) which is at the level of the platforms flanking the permanent way, and it has at least one drive as a piston/cylinder unit (13) or a pull cable or a rack and pinion drive. The running rail is over the level of the platforms, and can be lowered to the level of the railway track (3) in the platforms.
