An awning (1) comprises: (A) a coiling shaft (5); (B) a drive mechanism (6); and (C) an awning sheet (9) which along one edge is attached (A) and consists of a woven material covered at least on one side with a foil. The awning further incorporates (D) an extractor system (12, 13, 14) which is attached to the opposite edge of (C), and serves for keeping the latter stretched during deployment of the awning.
