The invention relates to a method and a device for automatically establishing the effect of cell-influencing substances or active ingredients on living cells, cell systems and cell compartments. The invention relates in particular to a method for automatically establishing the effect of cell-influencing agents on living cells in order to verify and identify novel active ingredients. Said method can be used in all pharmacological, toxicological and chemical fields, in particular in the testing of active ingredients, e.g. of antineoplastic active ingredients.
