The method for provided a traffic jam free route involves providing at least one route from a start point to a destination. The route, together with a time request, is conveyed to a service provider. Whenever an allocation for mobile communication in the network of the service provider is booked, at least close to the time input of the request, or is already booked in, the service provider checks the traffic situation for the route(s). A message is then sent if a delay is likely on that route.
