The windscreen wiper has a rubber mounted on a carrier strip which is fitted with an adapter (8) connecting it to the wiper arm. The adapter is made in one piece and has an inverted V cross-section (12, 13). A central connecting block (18) has an aperture (17) into which the end of the wiper arm fits and lugs (19) on the arms of the V fit into the carrier strip. An Independent claim is included for the adapter.
