The device has a rotatable shaft that can be moved axially to exert a lift over function, a manual hand grip joined to the shaft and an optoelectronic device connected to an evaluation unit for detecting angular and axial positions. The optoelectronic device has an angle sensor with a code plate concentric to/attached to the shaft and a light barrier arrangement next to a flat side of the code plate and fixed with respect to axial shaft movement. The device has a rotatable control shaft (3) that can also be moved axially to exert a lift over function, a manually operated hand grip (4) joined to the shaft and an optoelectronic device connected to an evaluation unit for detecting the angular and axial positions. The optoelectronic device has an angle sensor with a code plate (5) concentric to and attached to the shaft and a reflex light barrier arrangement (6) adjacent to a flat side of the code plate and fixed with respect to an axial movement of the shaft.
