The unit to condense drawn sliver, at the drawing unit for a spinner, has a shrouding (29) between the final pair of drawing rollers (4) and the clamping roller (25) without touching the sliver (2) as it travels over the sliding surface (19) with its suction slit (20). The shrouding forms a free air entry gap at the side away from the sliver guide edge, between it and the permeable sliver transport belt (14). The condensing unit for drawn sliver, at the sliver drawing station for a spinner, has a shrouding with the side towards the sliver guide edge supported at the sliding surface, with sealed contact, and it is in sealed contact support with the sliding surface at the side away from the guide edge on both sides of the air entry gap. The shrouding is directly next to the transport belt, supported on the sliding surface, and can be shifted clear of the sliding surface on its carrier (31). A leaf spring presses the shrouding against the sliding surface, at the center of the shrouding carrier for two adjacent spinning stations, with a shrouding carried at each free leg of the spring.
