The switching valve has valve body (8) movable to open or close the flow passage and connected to and movable by a drivable holding part (12). The holding part engages around essentially the entire valve body and a guide part (11) is arranged between the holding part and valve body to guide the valve body within it and the holding part outside it. Independent claims are also included for a method of controlling the flow of a fluid.
