The assembly (1) to open a door, and especially at an automobile, has a door handle (10) with a grip profile (15) which is operated to open the door. A closure can be operated to block access to the grip profile, and a rotating mechanism (60) turns the profile so that it lies wholly within a recess (20). The closure can be operated by remote control, and is connected to an airbag sensor for release when the airbag is activated.
