The points have at least one stock rail (4) and one tongue blade (5). The stock rail is fabricated from a Vignoles rail. The stock rail head has an inset (X) and/or undercut (7) for the tongue blade. The inset is pref. larger than 3mm, and the undercut has an inclination of 1:7, pref. 1:3. The stock rail is located on a base plate, which slopes at a ratio of approx. 1:40 from the area of the stock rail foot (10) to the tongue blade.
