The method involves displaying video signals in a data processor (2) in response to control signals produced by a user controling a virtual vehicle and displaying other vehicles (A1-A6) in the displayed field of view. Information about at least one of the other vehicles, especially its position during a real race on the predefined race track (4), is detected and used essentially in real time to determine and display the field of view.
