Magnetic resonance device has a first component group with a base magnetic field system (12) and a gradient coil system (14). A second component group has an examination area (24) for receipt of a patient (50). Between the two component groups a sound insulation layer is placed forming two spaces (10, 20) that are isolated, in terms of sound, from each other.
