Production of tear-free cold deformed parts made from corrosion-resistant meta-stable austenitic steels comprises determining the instability of the steel in the form of a martensite equivalent M; avoiding cooling and deposition of the material below room temperature at absolute values of less than 16; and post rolling (pass of less than 2 %) at 40-80 deg C. Preferred Features: The absolute martensite equivalent M for non-stabilized steel is: M = 20 - (% Cr + 1.5(% Ni + % Cu) + 0.75 % Mn + 0.7 % Si + 0.6 % Mo + 1.9 % Ti + 45(% C + % N) + 1.5 % V + 1.1 % W + 0.2 % Co - 0.1 % Al), and for stabilized steel is: M = 20 - (% Cr + 1.5(% Ni + % Cu) + 0.75 % Mn + 0.7 % Si + 0.6 % Mo + 1.1 % W + 0.2 % Co).
