The method for indicating interruptions in the chain of cooling of frozen foods comprises applying drops of a test liquid (2) whose dew point is below 0 deg C to the packaged food (1), so that it freezes on to it. The liquid is preferably red wine. It may be applied to an absorbent carrier mounted on an elastic strip, so that if cooling is interrupted the strip curls up.
