The deforming process acts on a tube piece (1) to produce a narrow sector (2) in a deforming device with an internal die. Axial pressing devices are used on the endfaces of the tube piece, which in the course of the radial narrowing, act on the wall mass of the tube piece to produced the desired shape for the end product.
