The arrangement has a device for outputting an acceleration signal as not equal to null if a state parameter is greater than a first threshold and for outputting an acceleration signal as equal to null if the state parameter is less than a second threshold lower than the first threshold. The state parameter is the difference between demanded and actual vehicle speed. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for implementing the method of regulating a vehicle's speed using an inventive device and a use of the device in hands-free mode in a distance-related speed control system.
