The flowrate measuring method has the flow velocity within a flow pipe measured ultrasonically and multiplied with a cross-sectional surface area, for calculation of the fluid flowrate. A sectional surface at 45 degrees to the flow direction is selected, with ultrasonic measurement of the flow velocity at a number of points within the sectional surface, via corresponding transducer pairs (1,2) and multiplication of the calculated flow velocity with the cross-sectional surface.
