The pilot pipe segment, assembled into a pilot pipe to transmit axial push/pull forces and a torque, has an outer tube (1) to transmit pull forces with an inner rotating tube (2) to transmit push forces and torques. The inner tube has two complementary end sections (7,8) fitted together axially, in a keyed positive fit, to transmit the torques between the two inner tube sections. An axial limit stop at each end section transmits axial push forces.
