The lock operating device has a transceiver (6) for signal dialogue with a transponder (5) upon operation of a switch (9), with controlled operation of a setting element (13) for the lock in dependence on the signal response provided by the transponder. A second switch (4') associated with the transponder is closed to allow the transponder to respond to the interrogation signals from the transceiver. An Independent claim for an automobile window provided with a locking device is also included.
