The assembly to clear dung from an animal stall has a manure scraper (6,8) which is moved to and fro by a continuous cable (10) around deflection rollers (14-20), through a cable drive (12). At the drive, the cable section (10b) to the drive wheel from one deflection roller (20) does not come into contact with the cable section between the drive wheel and an auxiliary wheel.
