The component assembly for interior fittings in a building, and especially to give stair steps, is a board in a sandwich structure. The core layer (K) is a chipboard, flanked by hard boards (H). The outer surfaces are covered by laminated layers (L1,L2). The core is composed of three chipboard layers. The outer layers are a high density fiberboard (HDF). The laminate is a continuous lamination. The layers are bonded together by an adhesive.
