The method uses a driven grinding tool. Both gear hobbing tools (7,8) are born on roller spindles (1,2) of a rolling machine, and are ground at the same time by a grinding tool (11), using a hobbing grinding process. The hobbing tools remain on the spindles for subsequent rolling stages. The roller spindles of the machine are connected to a rotary drive (9,10) and a radial feed device. The grinding tool is driven by a drive unit (15) to execute a axial grinding movement.
