The arrangement has a liquid output nozzle with a liquid output gap (28) to which the liquid to be applied is delivered. An air flow (64,66) is generated about the liquid coating leaving the gap that carries the liquid along with it and feeds it to the workpiece (70) surface. The air flow has two sub-flows on both sides of the liquid coating and is heated to above the temperature of the coating.
