The sensor to register a physical value, e.g. a pressure level, has a sensor section (10) to generate and deliver a voltage according to the physical value being measured. The voltage is passed to a signal processing circuit (4) to give a representative voltage of the registered pressure. A reference voltage is passed to the signal processing circuit during a test phase, to check that the signal processing circuit is functioning correctly.
