Device (30) for controlled braking of the winding movement of a rotating winding shaft of a spring-loaded blind pre-tensioned in a winding state comprises a housing (31) containing a moving piston (40), and a first chamber (44) and a second chamber (45) defined by the housing and the piston. A fluid medium is pressed through an outlet out of the first chamber and into the second chamber by the piston on rotating the winding shaft in the winding direction.
