Voltage is applied to a pair of electrodes common to all nozzles, to generate electric field which varies periodically for every ink droplet. The ink discharge is controlled such that the ink droplets are guided to all the lattice points of a rectangular coordinate system, maintaining a uniform space between the discharged drops. An Independent claim is also included for inkjet recording method.
