The device has regions of lower and higher thermal capacity and a thermoelectric structure with a hot junction in the lower thermal capacity region and a cold junction in the higher thermal capacity region. A heat-sensitive resistance structure for detecting the cold junction temperature is arranged in the same plane as the thermoelectric structure along the cold junction's outer periphery next to a section on which the cold junction is formed. The device has a region (18) of lower thermal capacity, a region (20) of higher thermal capacity and a thermoelectric structure (24) with a hot junction (30a) in the lower thermal capacity region and a cold junction (30b) in the higher thermal capacity region. A heat-sensitive resistance structure (32) for detecting the cold junction temperature is arranged in the same plane as the thermoelectric structure along the outer periphery of the cold junction and next to a section on which the cold junction is formed.
