Incremental steering angle signaler has one or more magnetically sensitive sensors for sampling the signal from a periodic magnetic encoder. The angle signaler has additional devices for detecting steering direction. The sensor unit has one or more wheel angular velocity sensors and a weather resistant housing, an electrical connection, mounting elements and a magnetic field sensor element sealed within the housing.
